Serotonin influences the way humans make decisions. If scientists replicate this in an artificial intelligence system, depression could be a side-effect.
Sounds like a sketchy idea on the surface; maybe not so good before we merge. Robots/AIs alone, it would seem, should only serve to inform humans of ideas and conclusions based on their grand capabilities with logic, but leave acting on those conclusions to humans, except in limited duties.
